Mission statement
The Moravian Church in Tanzania aims at proclaiming and expounding the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ in order to win souls to Christ. MCT is founded on strong Christian ideologies from both the old and new testaments and is reinforced by the sacraments. MCT seeks to attain this in harmony with the Moravian doctrine. The first missionaries of the Moravian Church came to Tanzania in the late 19th century soon after Germany assumed control of the territory. The first Moravian mission station was established at Rungwe in Southern Tanzania in 1891. Another station in Western Tanzania was handed over to the Moravian Board in Herrnhut.Moravian Women Organization
